Welcome to a world gone crazy, did you feel it too? Some say it's a revolution, reality too Falling falling falling to another time Can you feel it too? Falling falling falling to another time Can you feel it too, can you feel it? Someone call security, cos this ain't nothing It ain't nothing but a heist They're robbing me and they're robbing you Can't you see, oh can't you see Someone call security, because this ain't nothing It ain't nothing but a heist They're robbing me, they're robbing you Can't you see, can't you see So sick and tired of politics Falling falling falling to another time Falling falling falling to another time Can you feel it too, can you feel it? Inside, the white house, the big white house Finger on the button Crazy! Someone call security, because this ain't nothing It ain't nothing but a heist They're robbing me, they're robbing you Can't you see, can't you see So sick and tired of politics Inside, the white house, the big white house Finger on the button Crazy!

about

haggisrecords.bandcamp.com

The Haggis Horns are a funk-fuelled powerhouse that rock audiences the world over, they rip up the dancefloor with the virtuosity of trained jazz musicians combining heavy breakbeat funk, soul, hip-hop and afrobeat. The group has thousands of gigs under their belt and have played with household names such as Mark Ronson, Jamiroquai, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Amy Winehouse, John Legend & The Roots and The Brand New Heavies.

After the success of 'Hot Damn!' 'Keep On Moving' and 'What Comes To Mind' their next album shows the boys blasting out their unique brand of dance floor funk with regular collaborators Lucinda Slim and John McCallum on tracks ranging from up beat breaks to down tempo slinkyness. Also on the album is rapper Doc Brown who helps create a distinctive hip-hop feel that runs through their latest studio offering.

"One Of These Days" features the usual heavy funk/jazz-funk dance floor bangers but also a nice mix of other genres, including their first recordings with a rapper, a proper disco/boogie gem and some sweet laid back 70's style soul. The usual musical stew that showcases all their favourite influences from the soul, funk, hip hop and jazz traditions. For deep soul lovers check out the title track "One Of These Days" featuring original Haggis Horns "Hot Damn!" vocalist John McCallum. Also try the second single from the album "World Gone Crazy" featuring Lucinda Slim for another slice of deep soul magic. Lucinda also features on lead vocals on the previously mentioned disco/boogie track "New York Beat", a synthesis of funk guitar, analogue keyboard sounds, punchy horns and disco diva harmonised vocals.

There's a new rockier guitar sound on this LP reminiscent of Dennis Coffey's mid 70's b-boy funk instrumentals, especially on "Gonna Be Alright". Talking of b-boys, rapper/MC Doc Brown is featured on the first single from the LP, released in summer 2017, the old skool funk/rap/hip-hop block party anthem "Take It Back". He also features on the other hip-hop/funk track "What's It All About".
